Their world is therefore about to become much larger and much louder. But, as a member of hard-rock royalty, Queen Barb, aided by her father King Thrash, wants to destroy all other types of music to make rock reign supreme. With the fate of the world at stake, Poppy and Branch, together with their friends Biggie, Chenille, Satin, Cooper and Guy Diamond, leave to visit all the other lands and join the Trolls in harmony against Barb, who instead does everything to put them in the shade.

The two protagonists Poppy and Branch will return to have the original voices of Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake, the latter also author of the soundtrack. In Italian their voices are those of the singers Elisa and Alessio Bernabei.
